Update:

UEFA has released details of the 2028 European Championships, which will be held in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Luis de la Fuente’s Spain side will defend its title after winning the 2024 edition in Germany.

The 2028 tournament will take place from June 9 to July 9 in nine stadiums across eight different cities: London (Wembley and Tottenham Stadium), Manchester (City Stadium), Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool (Everton Stadium), Dublin, Cardiff, and Glasgow (Hampden Park).

UEFA confirmed that the opening match will be played in Cardiff and the final, as well as the two semi-finals, at Wembley. This will be the third time the London stadium has hosted the European Championship final, following those of 1996 and 2020.

The quarter-finals will be more spread out: one match will be at Wembley, and the others will be played in Dublin, Cardiff, and Glasgow. From the knockout stages onward, there will be no more matches in England other than those at Wembley. It’s worth noting that two of England’s major stadiums, Old Trafford and Anfield, were left off the final list because they will be undergoing renovations that could clash with the Euros.

UEFA also officially unveiled the logo, which blends British and Irish colors and cultures.
