The latest report from the CIES Football Observatory has placed Mexicans Gilberto Mora and Santiago Sandoval among the most promising U-20 talents in all of Latin America - a recognition that underscores the impact, potential, and maturity both players display despite their young age.

The study compares performance, minutes played, and statistical influence against peers in the same category, making their inclusion among the continent’s youth elite an even greater achievement. Tijuana’s Mora has established himself as a key piece for both his club and national team thanks to his technique and consistency, while Chivas Guadalajara’s Sandoval is enjoying a meteoric rise that has already caught the attention of international scouts.

The report also highlights emerging figures from other countries, such as Brazil’s Rayan Vitor; Argentines Agustín Medina, Álvaro Montoro, and Maher Carrizo; as well as Peru’s Maxloren Castro and Brazil’s Zé Lucas - all part of a generation poised to shape the future of South American soccer.

But from a Mexican perspective, the spotlight falls squarely on Sandoval, who has burst onto the U-20 scene with his flair, pace, and ability to decide games. His trajectory suggests he could soon become one of the names to watch within the youth ecosystem of El Tri.
