París (Francia) Update:

Paris Saint-Germain has become one of the world’s most successful clubs not only on the pitch but also financially. According to a statement released by the club, the Parisian giants closed the 2024–25 fiscal year with $900 million in revenue, the highest figure in their history – a testament to the golden era they have enjoyed in recent years, particularly since the arrival of Luis Enrique.

Despite limited domestic income, which hit historic lows following last season’s failed deal with DAZN, the Champions League winners received $395 million in commercial revenue and another $188 million in matchday income. As the club proudly noted, this represents “an economic milestone despite national challenges compared to other leagues.”

A new economic era in Paris

Since Qatar Sports Investments took control of the club in 2011, PSG has multiplied its turnover nearly ninefold – an unprecedented figure in France. Back then, earnings barely reached $106 million, whereas now, in 2025, after a historic campaign crowned with the Champions League title, total revenue stands at an all-time high of $900 million. No French team – not even PSG itself – had ever experienced such a period of financial prosperity.

From galácticos to balance sheets

One of the key reasons behind this financial surge lies in the drastic reduction of the club’s wage bill. In the past, PSG assembled some of the world’s biggest stars through colossal salaries that exceeded 111% of its operating income. Under Luis Enrique and Qatar’s new model – focused on building a team rather than a collection of individual talents – that figure now represents just 65% of total revenue, marking a true paradigm shift both financially and on the field.

Full stadiums, viral growth, and record shirt sales

Other revenue streams have also skyrocketed: 170 consecutive sell-outs at the Parc des Princes, exponential growth across social media, and a 210% surge in online shirt sales. Combined with a growing list of major sponsors, these figures have put Paris Saint-Germain at the forefront of European football’s financial elite.

The success, also credited to the teamwork of Luis Campos and Luis Enrique, has turned PSG into an untouchable force in France – and increasingly, across Europe – following their most recent Champions League triumph.
