Confirmed Real Madrid Champions League XI for Liverpool Anfield clash
Xabi Alonso is set to use the same players that secured a vital win over Barça in the recent El Clásico at the Bernabéu.

The Champions League is back, and Real Madrid are looking to maintain their excellent start to the campaign with a fourth straight win. However, the task at hand on Tuesday night will be far from easy as they face one of the toughest opponents in the competition: Arne Slot’s Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions. It’s true the Reds have spluttered in recent weeks despite a weekend win against Aston Villa.

Last season, the English side recorded a 2-0 win over the Real Madrid side coached by Ancelotti, but this year, Madrid look like a different proposition under Xabi Alonso.
The Basque coach will not experiment with his starting line-up and the team who started the recent El Clásico at the Bernabéu will line up in Liverpool.
Courtois will start in goal with Lunin back on the bench after serving his suspension against Valencia in La Liga, and Alonso can also count on Fran González being available. In defense, Valverde will start at right-back again in Carvajal’s absence. Trent is ready, but he lacks match fitness, although Xabi said he can play. The center-backs remain Huijsen and Militao, and at left-back Carreras is irreplaceable, especially after scoring his first goal for Real Madrid against Valencia.

In midfield, Tchouameni anchors the midfield, accompanied by Bellingham and Güler, both switching roles between central midfielder and attacking midfielder to Madrid’s advantage. Camavinga completes the midfield trio, likely returning to his false right wing position, a tactic that proved highly effective against FC Barcelona.

And in attack, Vinicius and Mbappé will lead the line with the Frenchman bagging 18 goals in 14 matches. Despite his recent conflict with Xabi Alonso, the Tolosa native maintains his confidence in the Brazilian.
Real Madrid’s confirmed starting eleven against Liverpool is: Courtois; Valverde, Militao, Huijsen, Carreras; Güler, Tchouameni; Camavinga, Bellingham, Vinicius; and Mbappé.
