Liga MX star goes from the Grammys to the playoffs
Rayados’ Sergio Ramos attended the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas on Thursday, before jetting back to Mexico to prepare for the postseason.

Sergio Ramos made an appearance Thursday night at the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada - and by Friday morning, he was back on the pitch training with his club, Liga MX giants Monterrey.
The Spanish defender arrived early at El Barrial and went through a full session with the rest of the squad, just hours after serving as a presenter at the Latin music industry’s biggest night, where he handed an award to Bad Bunny.
It’s worth noting that Monterrey had been given a few days off and wasn’t scheduled to report back until Thursday. Ramos, however, showed extra commitment by training individually at the club’s facilities on Monday and Tuesday before flying to the U.S.

Can Monterrey end Liga MX title wait?
Rayados are gearing up for the Liga MX Apertura 2025 playoffs after clinching a direct spot in the quarterfinals, where they’ll face Club América. The team heads into the postseason in shaky form, with only two wins in their last nine league matches.
After spending part of the season atop the table, Monterrey slipped to fifth place and will have to close out the quarterfinal series on the road. Fans have voiced criticism over the team’s recent performances, adding pressure to the squad.
Head coach Domènec Torrent and his players are tasked with ending a six-year title drought in Liga MX: their last championship came in December 2019.
