How many goals has Lionel Messi scored for Inter Miami?
The Herons captain has been in scintillating form in recent months, putting up some of the best goal and assist numbers in MLS history.

Since his arrival in the summer of 2023, Lionel Messi has been the stand-out player in the MLS. But in recent months his form has gone to even higher levels.
Messi ended the MLS regular season with 29 goals and 16 assists in 28 appearances, winning the league’s Golden Boot and MVP award. The veteran superstar has been remarkably available despite a grueling 2025 schedule and has produced countless magic moments.
He has followed those regular season performances up with a stunning patch of postseason form, providing six goals and four assists in four postseason games. That equates to 83% of the goals that Inter Miami has scored in the 2025 playoffs, an astonishing figure for the 38-year-old.

Across his two-and-a-half seasons with Inter Miami, Messi has provided 77 goals and 41 assists in 86 games. That works out at around 1.4 goal involvements per game for the Argentine.
Are Inter Miami the favorites MLS Cup?
Messi and Inter Miami will take on New York City FC in the Eastern Conference final on Saturday, one game away from a first-ever MLS Cup appearance. Miami picked up the 2023 Leagues Cup in Messi’s first season with the team, won the 2024 Supporters’ Shield and have made good progress in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
However the championship - MLS Cup - is the standard by which this expensively-assembled Inter Miami will be judged. Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have already confirmed that they will retire at the end of the 2025 season, bringing their illustrious careers to a close. Will there be one final trophy for the two former Barcelona stars?
Miami are the favorites heading into the conference finals. They only finished the regular season in third place in the Eastern Conference but they picked up more points than any of the four teams remaining in the playoffs. That gives them home advantage for the remaining games and should be enough to ensure that Miami end the season with the championship that the glamorous project demands.
