Endrick pushes for Real Madrid exit
After talks with Lyon, the Brazilian star is ready to leave Madrid on loan in January to get the playing time he’s missing behind Mbappé.

Endrick’s future looks much clearer after the past few days. As previously reported, the young Brazilian was open to loan offers after realizing that playing time at Real Madrid this season would be extremely limited. Interest soon followed, with Lyon, managed by Paulo Fonseca, emerging as a leading candidate.
According to sources close to the talks, Endrick has now given his approval for a move to the French club following recent conversations with Fonseca.
Why Lyon is a perfect fit for Endrick
For Endrick, this is exactly the kind of opportunity he was waiting for. He wanted a team playing in European competition where he’d have a real chance to get on the field. Lyon, currently competing in the Europa League, fits that profile perfectly.
The 18-year-old didn’t want to leave Madrid on loan only to sit on the bench elsewhere. In that case, he figured it would make more sense to stay and learn behind Kylian Mbappé. But with Lyon’s recent injury issues and thin attack - Uruguayan forward Martín Satriano has struggled to make an impact, and key striker Eliesse Fofana is sidelined - Endrick is expected to step straight into a starting role.
Madrid and Lyon must agree on terms
The only remaining hurdle is for Real Madrid and Lyon to reach an agreement on the details of the loan. For Endrick, the move is all about maintaining his upward trajectory and staying in contention for Brazil’s national team, with an eye on the next World Cup.
When he signed with Madrid, he was already a fixture with the Seleção. From the club’s perspective, a loan makes sense too. After investing heavily in his transfer, wages, and related fees, Madrid needs him to keep developing. This season, his minutes would have been limited behind Mbappé and Gonzalo, a striker who fits perfectly into Xabi Alonso’s system as a traditional No. 9.

Lyon: A familiar path for Brazilian talent
Endrick also believes adapting to Lyon will be straightforward under Fonseca. The language and the personal rapport they’ve already built should help the transition.
He’s well aware that Lyon has long been a successful destination for Brazilian players. In recent years, no fewer than 28 Brazilians have worn the club’s shirt, including standout names like Bruno Guimarães, Lucas Paquetá, Thiago Mendes, Élber, and club legend Juninho Pernambucano.
For Endrick, Lyon could be the next great chapter in that tradition.
