Chucky Lozano in danger of missing out on MLS playoffs after locker room altercation
The Mexican striker could be omitted from the San Diego playoff games after engaging in an act of disciplinary action, according to The Athletic.

San Diego FC will face the Portland Timbers in the first round of the MLS playoffs as the Southern California team faces an important internal situation after an apparent lack of discipline on the part of Mexican Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano.
The Mexican now runs the risk of being left out of the team’s call-ups for the playoff duels after this situation, as reported this Wednesday by journalist Tom Bogert in The Athletic.

According to the outlet, Mickey Varas made the decision not to call up Hirving Lozano for the San Diego FC match on Decision Day, this was due to a disciplinary issue in which the Mexican footballer had incurred in previous weeks after being involved in an altercation in the locker room.
So far, no further details have been revealed about this problem that caused Lozano’s separation from the squad, so his presence this coming weekend at the start of the playoffs is not guaranteed, while the team resolves internal problems.
San Diego coach, Mikey Varas has been tight-lipped about the situation and in a press conference after Decision Day, in which they secured first place in the Conference, he simply stated that the club is discussing the situation internally.
“We had a situation that we are dealing with internally,” Varas explained.

Hirving Lozano’s numbers this season with San Diego FC
Lozano’s contribution to San Diego this season has been outstanding and even before the aforementioned altercation, which led to his dismissal, ‘Chucky’ contributed nine goals and eight assists in the regular season in the 27 games he played.
However, Mikey Varas sent a strong message and showed that without Chucky, the team is still capable of competing, this after the 4-0 win against Portland Timbers away from home.
