Update:

Even with the international break underway, Chivas Guadalajara is gearing up for a high-stakes friendly against longtime rivals Club América. The match comes on the heels of a recent clash between the two sides, and the Mexico City squad arrives with revenge on its mind.

The showdown between these two Liga MX giants will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday. Chivas will be looking to snap a frustrating streak of losses against América in non-competitive fixtures.

When was Chivas’ last friendly win over América?

Guadalajara has failed to beat the Coapa-based club in their last four friendly meetings. The last time the Rojiblancos came out on top was back in July 2020, during the GNP Cup, when they edged América in a thrilling 4-3 victory.

Since then, it’s been all downhill for Chivas in friendlies against their bitter rivals, with four straight defeats. Now, under the leadership of head coach Gabriel Milito, the team from Jalisco is determined to turn the tide and end the skid.
