Bad news for the Mexican champions
Toluca has announced that defender Luan García faces a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on an injury.

Toluca continues to assert its dominance, with the reigning Liga MX champion sitting atop the league table as the regular season winds down. However, Los Diablos Rojos will have to navigate the final stretch without one of their key players.
In an official statement shared on social media, the club announced that defender Luan García will be sidelined for the coming weeks. “He underwent an inguinal hernioplasty and reconstruction of the long adductor tendon,” the post read.
When will Luan García return to action?
“The procedure was completed without incident or complications. Based on his recovery progress, Luan García is expected to return to full training in approximately 12 weeks,” the statement added.

Toluca in the hunt for second straight title
Toluca currently boasts 28 points and is virtually assured a spot in the Apertura 2025 playoffs. Under the guidance of head coach Antonio Mohamed, the team will need to maintain strong results in the remaining matches to hold off Club América, who remain within striking distance of the top spot.
