Update:

The race between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to finish the year as world No. 1 will be decided at the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals, the season-ending event featuring the top eight players on the ATP Tour. The tournament takes place from Sunday, Nov. 9, through Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy.

Star-studded field in Turin

Top seed Alcaraz and Sinner, ranked second, are among the eight players competing, who have been drawn into two groups for the round-robin stage. Novak Djokovic, the all-time leader in men’s Grand Slam titles, joins the field alongside Americans Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton.

Jimmy Connors Group

  • Carlos Alcaraz (1)
  • Novak Djokovic (3)
  • Taylor Fritz (6)
  • Alex de Minaur (7)

Bjorn Borg Group

  • Jannik Sinner (2)
  • Alexander Zverev (4)
  • Ben Shelton (5)
  • Félix Auger-Aliassime or Lorenzo Musetti (8)

How the format works

In the round robin, each player faces the other three members of their group in a best-of-three-set match.

The top two players from each group advance to the semifinals, with the group winners facing the runners-up from the opposite group.

The winners of the semifinals then meet in the final, also played as a best-of-three-set match.

Records and rivalries

Djokovic is aiming for a record-extending eighth title, while Zverev, who triumphed in 2018 and 2021, is the only other multiple-time winner in the draw.

Sinner enters as the defending champion after winning the title last year in Turin. Alcaraz, meanwhile, is still seeking his first victory at the prestigious season finale.

2025 Nitto ATP Finals prize money

There will be a total prize purse of $15.5 million. Should there be an undefeated champion, he will collect $5,071,000. The amount on offer for winning the final is $2,367,000.

  • Undefeated champion: $5,071,000
  • Final win: $2,367,000
  • Semi-final win: $1,183,500
  • Round-robin match win: $396,500
  • Participation fee: $331,000

What’s at stake for Alcaraz and Sinner

If Alcaraz wins three matches in Turin, he will secure the No. 1 ranking heading into next season, and be the top seed for the 2026 Australian Open. If he falls short, Sinner would need to win the tournament outright to clinch the year-end No. 1 spot.
