Pimblett taunts Topuria after Liverpool beat Real Madrid

Paddy Pimblett continues his efforts to provoke Ilia Topuria. The British fighter, who just a few days ago stated that he would destroy the Spanish-Georgian’s face if one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history were to take place, has this time used Real Madrid’s defeat at the hands of Liverpool in Tuesday’s Champions League game as a weapon.

After the final whistle, Pimblett posted on his personal Instagram account a photo of himself celebrating his team’s victory at Anfield alongside Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, with a message for Topuria: “Finally got to meet ‘Mr. Liverpool,’ one of our own and one of Huytons’ greatest, Steven Gerrard, my absolute childhood hero, a true Scouser who gave everything for the club. Ilia Topuria didn’t show up, where were you tonight? Thought you were a Real Madrid fan? I can’t wait to bully you in the Octagon like the Reds just bullied ‘your team’ for 90 minutes.”

The post, which went viral in minutes and already has over 135,000 likes and 700 plus comments, received no response from the UFC lightweight champion. In fact, “El Matador” recently posted a video of himself at a supermarket for an advertising sponsorship.

Pimblett continues to seize every opportunity to provoke Topuria, who, although he chose not to respond this time, usually plays along. In fact, he recently stated in an interview with AS that he would like to fight him, declaring that “there’s a history that connects us.” The final decision rests with the UFC and Dana White, who have the power to make a fight a reality, a fight that, for the moment, is fueled by constant provocations.
