Will the Cowboys make a trade before the deadline or stick it out with the current roster?
The Cowboys hinted at a potential trade to help out the defense, but will it be enough to be worth it? As the deadline approaches, what’s Jerry’s next move?

The Cowboys’ defense has been under fire all season, and after a crushing defeat to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the question remains: Will Dallas make a move before the November 4 trade deadline, or is owner Jerry Jones content to go on with the current roster?
I have a fix, the Cowboys need to trade for Micah Parsons.

Jerry Jones hints at defensive shake-up
With the team sitting at 3-4-1 and giving up over 400 yards for the fourth time in 2025, the need for defensive help is clear. Recent rumors have linked Dallas to high-profile edge rushers like Maxx Crosby and Trey Hendrickson, but insiders say nothing is imminent. Jones himself acknowledged that the team is “more than one player away” from defensive perfection, suggesting that a rental addition may not be enough to make a significant difference.
“I don’t know what’s realistic,” Jones said. “Could one better player...if we didn’t pay too big a price to have a better player on defense to possibly help?… Are we one player away on defense? I think we’re not. I think we’re more than that away, but what we’re closer to than it looks, in my mind, is executing better on defense.”
Who can the cowboys trade for that really makes sense ? One player isn’t enough, we need CB FS And OLB help

“A loss is discouraging. But as far as my temperament, if I saw a proposition for us to help this team- no matter what this score was today- then I would look at it on the merits of helping this team,” Jones said. ”Today would not affect a decision on trading for a player.”
Even so, the Cowboys have options. With over $31 million in cap space, the team could afford a short-term rental if they wanted to. But with DeMarvion Overshown set to return from injury and other internal reinforcements coming, waiting it out (for now) could be the most sensible option, especially considering Dallas’ offense ranks second in scoring and fourth in total offense.
The reality is that even with potential short-term additions, the Cowboys’ defensive woes are unlikely to be solved overnight, leaving the team reliant on the offense and internal improvements to stay competitive. Either way, the trade deadline is fast approaching, and all eyes will be on Jerry Jones’ next move.
