Will Alvin Kamara play for the Saints against the Patriots on Sunday? New Orleans RB injury status
Here’s everything you need to know about Alvin Kamara’s injury ahead of Week 6.

As the New Orleans Saints get ready to face the New England Patriots this Sunday, one question remains: will Alvin Kamara take the field or will he be sidelined? The running back‘s name has been on the lips of the fanbase all week after sustaining an ankle injury in Week 5 against the New York Giants.
Kamara’s ankle issue began early in the week, forcing him into limited participation during midweek training. Across Thursday and Friday, he continued to be restricted to gym work as he awaited the green light to return in practice sessions. Despite the recovery process still hampering him, the Saints have listed him as ‘questionable’ ahead of Week 6.
Importantly, head coach Kellen Moore has downplayed concerns about his availability, though no guarantees have been issued. Even if Kamara is cleared to play, many anticipate a more cautious run out, with Kendre Miller stepping up for additional duties.
On the defensive side, the Saints will also welcome the return of Chase Young, who had been sidelined with a calf injury. Meanwhile, cornerback Isaac Yiadom is officially ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Alvin Kamara’s performance in the 2025 season has been solid, though not without its challenges. Across five games, he has racked up 283 rushing yards on 73 carries, averaging 3.9 yards per attempt — this places him among the top 20 in the league for rushing yards. In addition to his rushing contributions, Kamara has recorded 77 receiving yards on 17 receptions.
