Which NFL teams have a bye week in Week 6?

NFL bye weeks come around every season, a time in which each NFL team has a week off from competition that gives players and coaches a chance to recharge and reset.

As you might expect, these weeks are hugely beneficial for both players and coaches. The former group use the downtime to recover physically and mentally while the latter often spend the break at their office desks, reevaluating strategies and adjusting game plans.

Here’s how the bye week system works: for the 2025 season, bye weeks span from Week 5 through Week 14, with no teams off in Week 13. The number of teams resting varies each week, with as many as six taking a break at once (which comes this year in Week 8).

Here are the teams which have a bye week in Week 6:

Houston Texans

The Texans enter their Week 6 bye with a 2–3 record. They were off to a rough start (0–3), but came back with a sensational 44–10 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

Such a thumping victory will surely have provided confidence and taken away some early season pressure heading into the break.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings also have a 2–3 record going into Week 6. They’ve shown flashes of strong play, for example, in their Week 5 win over the Browns, but also inconsistency on the scoreboard. Having the bye now gives them a chance to heal, get healthy, and refine game plans before facing the midseason grind.
