Update:

One month on from a horror injury that ended his season, Tyreek Hill has revealed that he may not return to play in the NFL.

Hill suffered a serious knee injury while playing against the New York Jets on September 29, tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. The injury immediately ruled him out for the remainder of the 2025 season but, speaking recently, Hill admitted that he was not yet sure if he would play again.

“At the end of the day, I feel like that decision is based upon how I feel and where my mindset is at the moment,” Hill said in a podcast interview with Terron Armstead, Hill’s former Dolphins teammate. “I’m happy with the career that I’ve had. I love playing football. I love it, but it takes a lot. It takes a lot on you mentally, it takes a lot on you physically.

He continued: “I’m at the point now where I need to have a conversation with mom, family, everybody. Wherever my mind is at the time, the decision will be made, but I know right now, I haven’t had time to live in the moment.”

Now 31 years old, Hill has played in the NFL for ten seasons and enjoyed some real highs. Drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, Hill won Super Bowl LIV with the team and was a three-time Pro Bowl first-team selection with the Chiefs.

In 2022 he was traded to the Miami Dolphins, where he put up back-to-back 1,700-yard receiving seasons in his first two years. His current contract with Miami runs through the 2026 season, meaning that he could potentially return to play next year. But speaking to Armstead, Hill admitted that he just feels blessed to have lived the career that he has up to this point.

I’ve been able to play this game for 10 years, really my entire life, and I’ve been blessed with great talents and great gifts. The amount of support I get from my family, it’s amazing. So I really wasn’t even thinking about the injury. I was thinking about the great times I’ve had playing this game.”
