Tyler Huntley channels his inner Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens got back on track with a 30–16 win over the Chicago Bears, thanks to third-string quarterback Tyler Huntley.

The Ravens still need clarity on Lamar Jackson’s hamstring injury, but Huntley stepped in and looked every bit like him, leading Baltimore to victory at M&T Bank Stadium.

Huntley was a true dual threat against the Bears’ defense — almost a mirror image of Jackson. The former Utah quarterback completed 17 of 22 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 53 yards on eight carries.

He didn’t do it alone. Derrick Henry and Keaton Mitchell powered the ground game, with Henry serving as the workhorse — 21 carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns — and Mitchell adding speed with a 25-yard burst as part of his 43-yard total.

Tyler Huntley texted the Ravens asking for a shot

After finishing his stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, Huntley became a free agent. The 27-year-old revealed that he personally texted Ravens head coach John Harbaugh during training camp to ask for another chance.

“I’d say it was early in camp,” Huntley said after the game. “I told him, ‘Man, I want to play for the best team in the NFL,’ so I texted Harbaugh and told him he could count on me.”

The Ravens had lost both games that Lamar Jackson missed with Cooper Rush under center. Now, if their franchise quarterback remains sidelined, Baltimore may have found a priceless insurance policy in Tyler Huntley.
