Update:

After being mysteriously absent from the NFL broadcasts this season, Taylor Swift’s fans were finally given a glimpse at the global superstar when she attended fiancé Travis Kelce’s game on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Washington Commanders 28-7 and Kelce impressed in front of his girl with an outstanding performance on the field.

Travis Kelce honors Taylor Swift with touchdown dance

Kelce hauled in six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, and it wasn’t just his athletic performance that caught attention. After his third-quarter touchdown, he celebrated with a dance move straight out of Swift’s music video for her new hit song “The Fate of Ophelia”, with his gaze pointing straight up towards Swift’s suite.

Swifties quickly caught on, and were loving the move:

The song is the first on Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl” and the lyrics, like those in most of her songs on that album, are all about Travis. “The Fate of Ophelia” references Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”, in which Ophelia is driven mad by love. In her song, however, Swift is saved from that tragic destiny by a certain love interest who gives her the happily-ever-after fairy-tale ending she’s always wanted.

In the music video, Swift sings, “I pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibe” while performing a dance that has since gone viral on social media. And that is the little jig Travis was seen doing on the field on Sunday.

This isn’t the first time Kelce’s game-day antics have reminded fans of his pop superstar fiancé. From heart-hand gestures to subtle nods at her lyrics, the Chiefs tight end has made it clear he’s fully embracing his supporting role in the Swiftie cinematic universe.
