“Thunderstruck” and in love: NFL player weds Cowboys cheerleader in viral ceremony
A Dallas Cowboys cheerleader has married a rival NFL player and is sharing photos of their ceremony on social media.

Last NFL season, one Dallas Cowboys cheerleader went viral for cheering on a player from the wrong team. Okay, technically Zoë Dale was cheering for the Cowboys on the sidelines, but when it came time for kicker Cade York, who was playing for the Cowboys’ opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals, she couldn’t hide her partiality.
That’s because the two were dating at the time. And over the holiday weekend, they made their bond official with a beautiful wedding ceremony in Frisco, Texas.
From the sidelines to “I do”
On December 9, 2024, Dale was doing high kicks cheering on the Cowboys while York was kicking field goals and extra points for the Bengals. The Bengals ended up taking the victory over the Cowboys in a 27-20 win.
But for York and Dale, no matter which team won, they were still on the same one at home. After the game, he ran over to give Dale a victory smooch.

“[Our teams] are playing on Monday, and I was like, ‘Well, Zoë, I will see you at home no matter what,’” York had said at the time. “It’s pretty cool. … She’s going to be rooting for me. It’s gonna be great. She already told me (during) second quarter and fourth quarter is when she’s on the visitor’s side, so I’ll have to sneak her a couple smiles.”
York is originally from McKinney, Texas and played football at Prosper High School. He went on to play for LSU before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2022. He was traded to the Washington Commanders in 2024, but played just one game before signing with the Bengals.
The couple got married over the 4th of July weekend in Frisco, Texas, showing off photos and videos on social media. And of course, being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, there was a performance of their iconic “Thunderstruck” routine with the other DCC members in attendance.
