Tackle trouble in Cincinnati: Bengals lead the NFL in misses with three players in the top 3
After nine games of the new season, the Bengals are 3-6 and occupy third place in the AFC North.

It’s been a mixed bag this season for the Cincinnati Bengals with the team starting the season in fine fashion with two wins in the opening games. Since then, the team has struggled with a sliver of hope coming from some of the narrow score lines amid the six defeats in the season.
The one recent statistic, after Week 9 (of the 2025 season) is the area of concern.

The Bengals have accumulated over 100 missed tackles, leading the league with the next closest team has a considerably lower total. For instance, one report listed the Bengals with 110 missed tackles, while the next highest team, the Washington Commanders, had 76.
Their tackling performance in some games has been described as historically poor, even being on pace to break the all-time NFL record for missed tackles in a season.

According to a report referencing Sport Radar stats (through Week 9 of the 2025 season), the Bengals have three players ranked in the top 3 in missed tackles in the NFL:
Jordan Battle (15 missed tackles) Demetrius Knight Jr. (14 missed tackles), Geno Stone (13 missed tackles)
Next up for the men from Cincinnati is a trip this weekend to Pittsburgh as they face the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday for the Week 10 matchup.
