Ravens 28 vs 6 Dolphins summary, stats, score and highlights | NFL Week 9

It was another disastrous night for Tua and the Dolphins after their moment of bliss in Atlanta. He went 25/40 for 261 and threw this interception but even more worrying that was the Dolphins inability to score where they were deep in BAL territory. Malaki Starks made the pick to end the game and sink MIA to 2-7 while the Ravens are all of the sudden right back in the AFC North race. 

Jackson completed his incredible return with this fourth TD pass of the night, this one to Bateman in the back of the end zone. Lamar finished the game with 204 yards on 18/23 passing with four TDs. The best news aside from Lamar's return was the fact that he look mobil and comfortable in and out of the pocket. 

Make it three TD passes for Lamar, and oh how sweet of a sight this must be for Ravens fans. Jackson found Rashod Bateman in the back of the end zone to take a 21-6 lead over the home team and the boos started to ring down in Miami.

Lamar would go right back to work after the Dolphins missed a 35 yard field goal which would have got them to within a point, but instead Jackson marched the Ravens right down the field and hit Mark Andrews with a 20 yard catch and run to the end zone to put the Ravens up two scores. 

Baltimore got the ball knocking on the door of the MIA endzone after the fumble but it took a fourth down conversion for Lamar to find Mark Andrews in the end zone for the game's opening TD. 

The Baltimore Ravens finally got Lamar Jackson back from injury and rattled off a second straight win for the first time this season. Lamar threw for four TDs, and the Ravens cruised to a comfortable victory against a Miami Dolphins team that is on the brink of collapse. 

The Dolphins came out and kicked a field goal on their first possession and then stopped Lamar on his first series back on the field, but Washington fumbled and Gilman pounced on the loose ball after forcing the fumble. 

BAL is going to kneel out the clock and win their second straight game!!!

NFL investigation 

The NFL is apparently starting an investigation of how the Ravens handled Lamar Jackson and his return to the field after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4. Before last week’s game against the Bears, Jackson was reported to have participated fully in practice, but didn’t take starter reps. He didn’t end up playing on Sunday against the Bears, and that has led to the NFL looking into if the Ravens approach to how they listed Jackson in accordance to his practice participation.

AFC Standings in Week 9 

Having a look at the standings in the AFC, you get the picture of just how much trouble these teams are in coming into the week. The Dolphins are you games out of first place and essentially need to win all of their games to have a chance at a Wild Card because catching up to the Bills or Patriots seems to be an impossibility. The Ravens ain’t quite in as bad of a situation. They can hold on hope for a Wild Card spot, but they are only two games out of first place in the AFC North and still have two games against the Steelers and two games against the Bengals left. Both of which are ahead of them in the standings. There is still plenty of time for the Ravens who are going to key on those divisional games, but will have to focus on tonight’s matchup before worrying about that.

Dolphins star watch 

Tua has made a lot of headlines this season, but unfortunately for him and the Dolphins most of those headlines have nothing to do with how he has been playing. When the going got rough, he thew his team under the bus for not everyone showing up to team meetings and tried to cover his tracks later but only made things worse. Finally Tua let his play talk instead of his mouth last week throwing for four TDs, and leading his team to a win. He’s got 15 TDs and 10 INTs this season, and threw six in the previous to weeks before the game in Atlanta. His 10 INTs is tied for most in the league with Geno Smith who has been benched in Las Vegas.

Let’s not forget that the Ravens were 1-3 with Jackson healthy and under center to start the season. He wasn’t exactly the reason they were losing, but he wasn’t leading them to wins either, which could have to do more with injuries on the other side of the ball, but in any case the Ravens are going to need Lamar to be Lamar not just tonight but for the rest of the season. In four games Lamar passed for 869 yards and 10 TDs, with just 1 INT and had 166 yards and a TD on the ground. He most likely won’t win MVP unless he has a sensational last half of the season, but he might have to be an MVP type QB to give the Ravens a chance at postseason.

Dolphins last game 

Miami went into Atlanta to take on a Falcons team that has been very good at times and very bad at other times throughout the season. Michael Penix was injured so that left Kirk Cousins in at center, and the Dolphins D suffocated the Falcons who had just over 200 yards of total offense. Tua looked like Tua of old, with four TDs hitting 20/26 passes for 205 yards, and the Dolphins eased to a 34-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Ravens last game 

The Ravens had seen just about enough of Cooper Rush trying to lead the Ravens to a win in place of an injured Lamar Jackson, and decided to go with Tyler Huntley under center. Huntley picked the Bears defense apart going 17/22 and throwing a TD, while Derrick Henry had a couple TD totes but it was the defense that was able to lock down the Chicago offense. They held the Bears to a couple field goals in the first quarter, and then locked them down until the 4th quarter. Henry’s second TD capped the game with 2:09 to go and bring Baltimore a much needed win to keep the season alive.

Hello everyone and welcome to Miami where two teams enter tonight dangerously desperate for a win, and that should make this game irresistible. Sure, both teams have just two wins on the season, but Lamar Jackson is back for the Ravens, and Baltimore is coming off a can’t lose game over the Chicago Bears and now they get their face of the franchise back tonight in Miami. The Dolphins were on the brink of collapse as their QB wasn’t just doing the wrong things on the field, he was saying the wrong things off the field. He and his coach were under heavy scrutiny, but Tua Tagovailoa and Mike McDaniels have a chance to get a big win to give them a little more job security for the near future.

He is finally back. A two time MVP QB has been out for the last four weeks, and his team has slid dangerously close to postseason elimination not even halfway into the season. But he is back tonight and ready to take on another team that is flirting with early season elimination from the playoff picture.
