Update:

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a huge Week 9 showdown on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium, one of the NFL’s loudest and most intimidating venues.

Patrick Mahomes embraces “hostile” Bills crowd

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mahomes admitted he’s well aware that Bills fans “don’t like” the Chiefs, calling the environment in Buffalo “hostile”. But he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“They don’t like us,” Mahomes said. “That’s pretty [clear]. They do not like the Chiefs.”

“But it is a cool environment,” he added. “I love playing in historic stadiums, and that stadium has had so many great players play in it. Who knows? It might be the last time we get the opportunity to play there. It’ll be a great challenge for us, and they’re loud, and that’s what you want. You want to go in and be in a hostile environment.”

“That what football is, when you watch on TV as a kid growing up, it’s the environment you want to play in,” Mahomes said. “And so obviously they’re not rooting for us, but you get to bond together as a team.”

The game marks another chapter in the growing rivalry between Mahomes and Bills quarterback Josh Allen, two MVP-caliber quarterbacks whose battles have defined the recent AFC playoff races. With both teams fighting for postseason positioning, Sunday’s matchup could have major implications for both the AFC standings and the MVP race.
