Estados Unidos Update:

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the busiest teams this NFL offseason. The long-awaited arrival of quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been the biggest storyline of the summer but that is just one of a number of moves made by the Steelers’ front office.

Pittsburgh also secured a trade for former Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf, a two-time Pro Bowler. However they have suffered some important losses, such as running back Najee Harris and receiver George Pickens.

The 2024 Steelers season was ultimately one of disappointment. For the second consecutive season they finished the regular season with a 10-7 record but they again fell at the Wild Card round of the playoffs. As they look to rebuild behind Rodgers, here’s a look at some of the biggest moves of the 2025 offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Steelers Additions:

QB Aaron Rodgers: The four-time NFL MVP may be 41 years old but he is still one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. He is not a long-term solution, but a one-year, $13.65 million contract could prove incredible value if he can get this offense firing.

WR DK Metcalf: Arrived in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. Metcalf and a sixth-round pick arrive in Pittsburgh, with a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick going in the other direction. He signs a 5-year deal for $50 million.

WR Ben Skowronek: Re-signed for two seasons, he started the 2024 season on the Steelers’ practice squad and he could have made the first team but was sidelined due to injury. Returned in November and finished the season with 5 completions for 69 yards.

CB Darius Slay: Given a one-year deal for $10 million. After the departure of Donte Jackson, the addition of this player brings experience to the position. Slay arrives after becoming a champion with the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. He participated in 14 matches in 2024, where he defended 13 passes, made 49 tackles and caused a fumble.

QB Mason Rudolph: Signs a two-year deal worth $8 million. Rudolph returns to the franchise after his time with the Tennessee Titans.

LB Malik Harrison: Signed a two-year, $10 million deal. He joins the Steelers after five seasons with the Ravens, where he played in 76 games (34 starts) and recorded 174 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks.

TE Donald Parham Jr.: Signed a one-year, $1.17 million contract. A depth addition at tight end, Parham adds size and red-zone potential.

OC Ryan McCollum: Re-signed on a one-year deal worth around $1.1 million. He played the full 2024 season with Pittsburgh and started two games at center when Zach Frazier was injured.

CB Brandin Echols: Signed a two-year, $6 million contract. He played four seasons with the Jets, appearing in 57 games (19 starts) with 113 tackles and five interceptions.

RB Kenneth Gainwell: Signed a one-year, $1.79 million deal. In four years with the Eagles, he averaged 4.2 yards per carry and totaled 12 rushing touchdowns.

WR Scotty Miller: Re-signed for another season. He played in 13 games for the Steelers in 2024, finishing with five catches for 69 yards.

S Juan Thornhill: Signed a one-year, $3 million deal. He previously played for the Chiefs and Browns, appearing in 11 games last season.

DT Isaiahh Loudermilk: Re-signed on a one-year contract. He played in 16 games last season, contributing 16 tackles and one sack.

DT Daniel Ekuale: Signed a one-year deal after four seasons with the Patriots. He started 16 games in 2024 and recorded 52 tackles.

DT Esezi Otomewo: Signed a one-year contract. He spent the past two seasons with the Jaguars as a rotational defensive lineman.

CB Jalen Ramsey & TE Jonnu Smith: Acquired via trade from the Dolphins in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. The Steelers also received a 2027 seventh-round pick. Smith signed a one-year, $12 million extension as part of the deal.

However it’s not been all incomings for the Steelers. They have also had to part with a lot of players, some of whom have been key pieces for Mike Tomlin in recent seasons. Here’s a look at those departing the Steelers...
