Update:

Former Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is calling out his old team over their treatment of cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was recently placed on injured reserve due to lingering knee and concussion issues.

“They did him wrong”: Micah Parsons calls out Cowboys over Trevon Diggs’ injury

Trevon Diggs has dealt with a series of major setback over the past three seasons, starting with a season-ending torn ACL in September 2023. In 2024, he was dealing with problems in the other knee, which led to surgery that December, with an eight-month recovery timeline. During the 2025 offseason, he was recovering well and was able to avoid the PUP list. However, he missed the Cowboys’ Week 7 game after suffering a concussion at home and was later placed on IR, due to the concussion as well as lingering knee issues.

Although Parsons is now with the Green Bay Packers, the All-Pro pass rusher is still making headlines with his former team. He recently criticized the Cowboys for mishandling Diggs’ recovery from his “catastrophic knee injury”.

“Honestly, I feel like they f***ed my dog over, you know what I mean?” Parsons said. “He’s coming off a catastrophic knee injury and I just didn’t think they did right by him. He didn’t participate all camp and he’s going out there playing Week 1 and 2. I just don’t think you do that to a player like that.”

Parsons added that the Cowboys “forced” Diggs into action during Week 1 despite being in a “warmup phase” of recovery. Diggs, who led the NFL in interceptions in 2021, has struggled this season, recording just 18 tackles and no pass breakups or interceptions before landing on IR.

The Cowboys’ handling of injuries has already come under scrutiny amid their disappointing defensive performances, and Parsons’ comments add another layer of tension between the organization and its former star.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, however, responded to Parsons’ criticism, saying that Diggs’ injured knee is not the same one he recently underwent surgery to repair. When asked if he thought Diggs was rushed back into the season, Jones said simlpy, “no, not at all.”

Diggs will be eligible to return Week 13 for the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the team plans to be cautious with his recovery.
