Update:

Its been a long month for fans of the Baltimore Ravens. But now, two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is off the injury list for Thursday Night Football and he could prove decisive against the Miami Dolphins.

Without the injured Jackson at quarterback, the Ravens suffered successive losses to the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Rams, putting up just 13 points across those two defeats. Stand-in Cooper Rush struggled in his place but Jackson will now return against one of his favored opponents.

In four games as starter against the Dolphins, Jackson has thrown 15 touchdown passes and just one interception. He did so while averaging an astonishing 300.3 passing yards per game.

In two of those previous meetings with Miami, Jackson has thrown five touchdown passes without suffering a single interception. If he can do the same on Thursday he will become the first player in NFL history to go five-for-zero against the same team three times.

There are currently only three other players who have managed it twice against the same team, and it’s a pretty impressive list: Tom Brady (vs Dolphins), Aaron Rodgers (vs Bears), Ben Roethlisberger (vs Ravens) and Lamar Jackson (vs Dolphins).

After more than a month on the sideline Jackson is taking no chances with the remaining games. Baltimore are currently 2-5 in a competitive division, giving them little room for error for the remainder of the regular season. Jackson has already instigated a tough new regime with table tennis table, video game consoles and a basketball hoop removed from the team facility to reduce distractions.

“Coach [John Harbaugh] touched on that with us in a team meeting: Each and every game is going to be like a win-or-go-home game,” Jackson said. “It’s do-or-die right now, each and every week.”
