Update:

Given how things have been going for the Baltimore Ravens this season, the last thing star quarterback Lamar Jackson needs is bad publicity. Unfortunately for the 28-year-old, that’s exactly what he’s got thanks to his appearance in a viral video.

The clip shows a hooded Jackson ordering late-night street food and includes a brief interaction with the vendor. The NFL star is all smiles as he collects his order and claims to be “feeling good” when asked, possibly a reference to his recent hamstring injury.

Viral video sparks Jackson claims

But darker corners of the internet, where NFL writer Dov Kleiman appears to reside, have interpreted Jackson’s happiness as something other than being over the worst of his fitness issues. “Ravens star QB Lamar Jackson has gone viral for looking extremely high while buying street food past midnight,” wrote Kleiman. “We have never seen an NFL player this fried.”

There isn’t much evidence to suggest that is actually the case, but Jackson felt the need to respond a few minutes later, having seemingly become aware of the video’s viral nature.

“Bra yall gotta stop engaging with these people,” the quarterback wrote on X. “They like to lie when their views low that’s why I unfollow these weirdos.”

Ravens and Jackson’s rocky start

Touted as a potential Super Bowl contender, the Ravens have endured a miserable start to the season, not helped by Jackson’s absence in Weeks 5 and 6, both of which ended in defeat.

That said, Baltimore also lost to the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions with their star quarterback on the field, while they were well behind the Kansas City Chiefs when Jackson sustained his hamstring injury in the third quarter.

Last week, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh hinted that Jackson could be available in Week 8 when Baltimore hosts the Chicago Bears on Sunday, October 26. However, the quarterback did not appear at Monday’s practice, meaning good news continues to be hard to come by for Ravens fans.

Harbaugh removes locker room distractions

In an effort to turn around the team’s form, Harbaugh has reportedly taken drastic measures, according to the Baltimore Sun. “Several recreational staples” have been removed from the Ravens’ locker room, effectively putting fun on hold until the team improves.

A basketball hoop near Jackson’s and Zay Flowers’ stalls, a ping pong table, cornhole boards, and video game consoles have all reportedly been removed as Harbaugh hopes tough love will spark a turnaround.
