Jets 14 vs 27 Patriots summary, stats, score and highlights | NFL Week 11

Maye hit Henderson in the back of the end zone for his hat trick in the 3rd quarter, and that would be enough to hold off the Jets who didn't do much on the offensive side of the ball outside of their first drive. 

NE improve to 9-2 and rattle off their 8th straight game while the Jets have their two game win streak snapped and drop to 2-8. 

The Pats would take the lead midway though the second quarter and it was Henderson again punching it in. This time he had it a little easier on the run to the left side. He ended the night with 62 yards and two TDs on 19 rushes and a TD catch later in the game to complete his hat trick. 

New England answered back on their first drive of the night. Both were long, 10+ play drives and TreVeyon Henderson finished off with his first of two TD runs.

The New England Patriots rattled off their 8th straight win and are now officially the hottest team in the league. Drake Maye had a near perfect game as the Pats cruised past the New York Jets in a division rivalry game on Thursday night. 

The Jets won the toss and wanted the ball, and for good reason. Justin Fields and the Jets drove right down the field and went up early with this TD run from Fields.

After a long drive from NY to start the game, Maye led the Pats down the field and into the end zone with a long drive of their own. Henderson muscled his way into the end zone from 7 yards out with a little help from his friends.

Diggs back and better than ever?

A year removed from his torn ACL injury, Stefon Diggs is looking back to his best if not better. It took him a little while to get going, but he and Maye now look like they are on the same page, and might be one of the best WR/QB combos out there. He started to show signs of how dangerous these two could be back in Week 4 against the Panthers when he had his first 100 yard game with NE, and then followed that up with a 146 yard game in his return to Buffalo. The former Bill has now caught TDs in three straight games, and you wouldn’t put it past him to get into the end zone for a fourth straight game. 

MVP race 

After 10 weeks of the NFL season, the NFL MVP race is heating up and the top two favorites heading into the final eight weeks of the season aren’t who you probably expected at the beginning of the season. We have 37 year old Matt Stafford leading the league in passing yards and passing TDs and has the Rams rolling with a 7-2 record. Drake May is in his second year in the league and is second on the odds board according to MGM Grand, although some bet shops have him above Stafford. He is doing everything right at the moment and if he can lead the Pats to the win tonight, and bearing in mind that the Rams have a tough game against the Seahawks this weekend Maye could be in the drivers seat for the MVP by Monday. 

AFC Standings 

Taking a look at the AFC standings we see a three way tie between at 8-2 fo the one seed in the conference. Obviously there is a lot of time to go over the season, but at the moment it’s the Colts who are at the top of the table and lead because of their record in the conference. They have just one loss against the AFC, while Denver lost to the Chargers and the Colts and Pats lost to the Raiders and the Steelers. The tides look like they might be turning in the AFC East as the Pats lead more than halfway into the season and have the tiebreak over BUF after beating them earlier this season. The Bills have been the kings of the division since Tom Brady left, but New England look to be the new top dogs, at least 10 weeks into the season. 

Patriots star watch 

The search is over. For a long time the Patriots fans were spoiled with Tom Brady as their quarterback. Over the nearly two decades in New England he became the GOAT and with each passing year left the eventual hole to fill once he left bigger and bigger. The day came when he left, and the Pats went from QB to QB looking for Brady’s successor, but it seemed like no one would be able to fill his shoes. Finally, the Pats had Drake Maye on the draft board a couple years ago and they scooped him up with the 3rd overall pick. In just two years, he’s become one of the top passers in the game and has taken NE from the bottom of the barrel to the cream of the crop. He has 2,555 yards which is third most in the league, 19 TDs and just 5 INTs and maybe the most impressive thing is he’s completing 71.7% of his passes which is second in the league only behind seasoned vet, Jared Goff. 

Jets star watch 

I don’t want to gang up on Justin Fields because I root for him and he’s gotten enough slack from the owner of the Jets, Woody Johnson. After the owners tangent a few weeks ago, it seemed like Field was going to lose his job, but Tyrod Taylor got injured which kept Fields under center for what turned out to be two straight wins. They beat the Bengals, and scored 39 points before topping the Browns 27-20. HE had 244 yards and a TD pass against Cincy but just 54 yards in the win over Cleveland. Fields has had three games in which he has thrown for less than 60 yards, but he won one of those game and had a chance to beat the Broncos in another one of those games. 

Patriots last game 

The Pats went down to Tampa Bay for what was one of the games of the week in the NFL. Drake Maye and Baker Mayfield went toe to toe, but it was Treyveyon Henderson who took the game over with his 147 yards rushing and two TDs. New England took a 14-10 lead into the halftime break with a buzzer beating TD to Stefon Diggs at the end of the first half, and then Henderson broke a 55 yard run to make it a 21-10 lead just a minute into the second half. TB would cut the lead to 5, but Henderson capped the game off with his second TD of the game, this time from 69 yards out with 1:31 to go in the game. 

Jets last game 

The Jets hosted the Cleveland Browns and their top defense on a rainy, cold day from the Meadowlands. New York knew they were going to need some help from their defense and special teams in a game in which their struggling offense would go up against Myles Garrett and the suffocating defense of Cleveland. That’s exactly what they got. Following an early first quarter TD from the Browns the Jets returned a kick off for a TD and then took a punt return to the house on the Browns next drive. The Browns would tie the game up at 17-17 heading into halftime, and after a third quarter full of three and outs, Justin Fields hit Breece Hall who broke a 42 yard catch and run to the house early in the fourth quarter. The defense would hold on and seal the 27-20 win for their second straight and their first back to back wins since early in the 2023 season.

Hello everyone and welcome to Foxborugh where the NFL’s hottest team is back at home and looking for their eighth win off the rip. Drake Maye has led the Patriots to an incredible turnaround season in just his second year in New England and Mike Vrable has this defense playing at a Super Bowl level. Some thought the win streak was lacking a big win over a good team, but New England went into Tampa Bay and beat the Bucs who were coming off a BYE. Now the Pats welcome the New York Jets who have built up a two game win streak after a dreadful start to the season that saw them lose their first seven games. Aaron Glenn’s team has won a couple games in a row despite trading away a couple of their key guys on the defensive end. Tonight, they will look to keep the win streak rolling against their bitter division rivals.
