Update:

The Carolina Panthers suffered a major injury concern on Sunday as quarterback Bryce Young was forced from the field in the victory over the New York Jets.

Young had completed 15 out of 25 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown when he was sacked by Jowon Briggs, who made a heavy connection on Young’s right ankle. Young was immediately taken from the field.

He headed to the locker room and did not return, later confirmed to be out for the rest of the game. In his place, backup quarterback Andy Dalton came in and made four of his seven passes for 60 yards.

The 37-year-old Dalton is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and has been a trusty deputy for Young during his time in North Carolina. Earlier this year he signed a two-year extension with the team with guaranteed earnings of $8 million.

The Panthers went on to beat the Jets 13-6, pushing their record to 4-3 across the first seven weeks of the season. For the Jets, another defeat takes their dismal 2025 record to 0-7.
