“Hopefully that’s what he means” - Dak Prescott responds to Jerry Jones’ “$100 billion” comment
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made a comment this week that was not well-received by the Cowboys fanbase and his quarterback has responded.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is doing his best to stay focused on football, but even he understands why fans were rubbed the wrong way by Jerry Jones’ latest off-field comment.
The Cowboys owner made headlines earlier this week after telling The Wall Street Journal that he was on the phone discussing a “$100 billion present value” natural gas deal instead of trying to “fix our defense”, amid questions about his team’s struggles. The remark drew widespread criticism from fans and media alike, who saw it as ill-timed and inappropriate, given Dallas’ ongoing defensive collapse and 3-4-1 record.
Jerry Jones in WSJ interview: “There’s $100B present value with gas… that’s why I’m talking to you rather than fixing our defense.” @getnickwright reacts:

Dak Prescott reacts to Jerry Jones’ viral quote about “fixing the defense”
Speaking Thursday, Prescott said he understands both perspectives.
“I don’t know the full context of it,” said Prescott. “I do know a piece of it. But being a fan and you just hear that or read that, yeah, of course…That can definitely be frustrating."
While Dak admitted that Jones’ words could easily be taken the wrong way, he also offered a defense of the longtime owner’s candor.
Dak Prescott said he can sympathize with fans who are frustrated about this recent Jerry Jones quote to the @WSJ:

“The guy has never really lied about who he is or what he’s trying to do,” Prescott said. “Hopefully he was talking about in that one particular moment. Maybe in those five minutes is what he was alluding to, and having a chance at a $100 billion opportunity I think you might take five minutes as well to answer a call. Hopefully that’s what he means, right?”
Prescott then pivoted the conversation back to football and accountability.
“For us as players, we control what we can control,” he said. “That doesn’t pertain to us right now. Our job is to make sure that we’re getting ready for Monday night and that we’re gonna be the best team we can be when we go play the Cardinals.”
Still, for fans already frustrated with how the Cowboys’ season has unfolded, Prescott’s diplomatic answer might not erase the sting of Jones’ remark. The team’s once-promising season is now rocky and uncertain, and comments like this one only fuel more questions about where Jones’ priorities lie.
