Update:

NFL training camps have just begun, and with that, so have the injuries. As the season is just around the corner, you’re likely already gathering information about which players you’ll try to get on your fantasy team this year.

With that in mind, you’ll need to know about some of the key injuries that have happened already at training camp. Justin Jefferson is expected to miss time early in camp and Brandon Aiyuk‘s season is in serious doubt. Other notable names on the radar include Joe Mixon and Chris Godwin. Let’s take a closer look at where those and other players stand as we are less than six weeks out from the start of the NFL regular season.

Injury Watch: NFL training camp opens with big-name players sidelined

Quarterbacks

Justin Fields, New York Jets

  • Injury: Dislocated toe
  • Status: Good to go. Fields was cared off the field on Thursday, but he was back at practice the next day. The team listed him as day-to-day, but it looks like there’s no reason to be concerned.

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

  • Injury: Knee
  • Status:Last year, McCarthy tore his meniscus and missed his entire rookie season. But now he’s participating in camp and expected to be the Vikings’ starter. Just something to monitor in deeper formats.

Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

  • Injury: Shoulder (previous surgery)
  • Status: Cleared. Richardson has “no restrictions other than volume”. The Colts are easing him in, but he’s fully expected to participate and could rise in fantasy rankings.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: Prescott injured his hamstring in Week 9 last year, but he’s at training camp now and expected to be ready for the season. No major concerns as of now.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Injury: Shoulder
  • Status: Lawrence underwent surgery to repair an AC joint injury. But he is at camp now and not expected to miss time. Monitor in case of updates.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

  • Injury: Back soreness
  • Status: Being held out of early practices as a precaution. While not considered serious, this is notable given his age and history. Monitor for any changes.

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

  • Injury: Knee
  • Status: No recent updates, but his ranking remains high. Presumed precautionary - worth monitoring if missed practice time continues.

Najee Harris, Los Angeles Chargers

  • Injury: Eye (from fireworks accident)
  • Status: Uncertain. Jim Harbaugh says Harris is “doing good” but unsure if he’ll practice during camp. Rookie Omarion Hampton could get more reps in the meantime.

Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks

  • Injury: Ankle
  • Status: Walker missed the final weeks last season with an ankle injury, but he’s at camp now and should be good to go. Keep an eye on his reps and preseason usage.

Joe Mixon, Houston Texans

  • Injury: Ankle
  • Status: On the Non-Football Injury list to start camp. Expected to be eased back in. Texans signed Nick Chubb as depth, but no indication of long-term issues yet.

Wide Receivers

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: Mild strain. Held out of Friday’s practice and will be re-evaluated next week. Still time before the season, but important to monitor, especially with his high fantasy cost.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Injury: Ankle
  • Status: Placed on PUP list to start training camp. Not expected to be ready for Week 1. First-round rookie Emeka Egbuka could benefit.

Malik Nabers, New York Giants

  • Injury: Toe
  • Status: Cleared. Nabers will practice and appears fully healthy after a toe injury he suffered earlier this offseason.

Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers

  • Injury: Torn ACL/MCL
  • Status: On the PUP list with no timeline for return. Team signed Equanimeous St. Brown as a potential depth option—indicates concern for Aiyuk’s season.

Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers

  • Injury: Hamstring
  • Status: On PUP list but could be activated within days. May start season as 49ers’ WR1 with Aiyuk out and Jennings in a contract dispute.

Rashee Rice

  • Injury: Knee/Hamstring + Possible Suspension
  • Status: Multiple concerns, including legal issues. No detailed injury update, but risk is high heading into the season.

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints

  • Injury: Concussion
  • Status: After suffering multiple concussions last season, Olave has had no recent updates. Monitor his progress as training camp continues, but he should be good to go.

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins

  • Injury: Wrist
  • Status: Good to go. He underwent surgery during the offseason and should be fully recovered.
