Update:

It’s an NFC East showdown to kickoff Week 6 from New York. One of the top teams in the league take on one of the worst teams in the league that is going through a transition and has a rookie QB that is set to make just his third start against the Super Bowl Champions on primetime.

The matchup

Philly were one of the last undefeated teams standing heading into Week 5, but a second half collapse cost them the game against Denver last week. Philly may have been 4-0 but they were coming up with different ways to win every week despite not playing complete games. That has been the problem in Philly this year, and that’s what ended up costing them against the Broncos when they gave up a 17-3 fourth quarter lead.

It was a minor set back for a team that is still figuring out how to play with the bulls eye on their back. They are getting everyones best shot on a week to week basis and they are going to have to get used to it. The Giants will be giving them their best shot tonight after an embarrassing game in New Orleans last week.

It was Jaxson Dart’s second start of his young career, and after New York beat the Chargers in his debut things got off to a great start down in the Big Easy. The Giants went up 14-3 in the first half, thanks to a couple of Dart TD passes to Theo Johnson. Things went down hill from there. They gave up an 87 yard TD to Rasheed Shaheed, and then the Giants went punt, fumble, fumble, fumble returned for a TD, interception and interception on their next six drives. There will be rookie blues for Dart and the Giants, but the question is how they bounce back from those growing pains.

Odds and prediction

The Eagles come into Thursday night’s game as a 7.5 point favorite on the road with the over/under set at 40.5 from MetLife Stadium.

Spread: Eagles -7.5

Moneyline: Philly -388, New York +303

Over/Under: 40.5 points

When will Saquon Barkley play like the Offensive Player of the Year that we saw last year? He has been shut down this year, failing to get 100 yards in any of his five first games. It’s not like he’s not getting carries. He averaged about 20 carries a game in the first month of the season, but last week he got six carried for just 30 yards. This week Philly need to feed the beast and let him loose. Remember he went for 176 yards and a TD on 16 carries in his only game against his former team last year. Saquon leads New York to a big win on Thursday night as the Eagles let a little frustration out on their division rivals.

Philly wins 38-13.
