Dre Greenlaw returned to action in Week 7 of the NFL, but will miss next week’s game due to a league-sponsored suspension. The Denver Broncos linebacker was suspended one game without pay for unsportsmanlike conduct following the win over the New York Giants.

The NFL statement says Greenlaw chased referee Brad Allen and verbally threatened him before leaving the field. The linebacker recorded six tackles and a quarterback hit against Jaxson Dart despite playing only 21 snaps.

This means the former San Francisco 49ers player will miss the Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Greenlaw said he will appeal the suspension in order to remain with the Broncos. He was inactive for the first few weeks with a hamstring injury.

Greenlaw arrived in Denver this offseason from San Francisco. The University of Arkansas graduate signed a three-year deal worth $31.5 million.
