Update:

The NFL trade deadline came and went on Tuesday, and the Miami Dolphins did absolutely nothing.

After weeks of uncertainty, the fans were hoping for a shakeup. Just a day after trading Jaelan Phillips for a third-round pick, many Dolphins fans expected at least one more move. Instead, interim general manager Champ Kelly decided it wasn’t necessary, leaving players like Bradley Chubb, Jaylen Waddle, and Rasul Douglas right where they were.

“Inexcusable”: Dolphins fans sound off

That decision resulted in a wave of anger and disbelief across social media. Frustrated fans accused the team of wasting a golden opportunity to collect draft capital, or at the very least to show some sort of direction after parting ways with former GM Chris Grier last week.

“Inexcusable. Malpractice. This franchise frustrates me so much,” one fan wrote on X, echoing a sentiment shared by many. Others took aim at owner Stephen Ross and questioned whether the Dolphins have any clear direction at all heading into the final stretch of the season.

Adding to the frustration, the New York Jets, Miami’s AFC East rival, went in the complete opposite direction, making two blockbuster trades that netted them multiple high picks and young talent. While the Jets rebuild aggressively, the Dolphins’ decision to stay quiet has fans wondering whether the team is standing still while the rest of the division moves forward.

For now, Kelly and head coach Mike McDaniel insist that stability is the priority. But in Miami, patience is running out, and doing nothing seems to be speaking louder than any trade would have.
