Dan Quinn delivers brutal injury update Commanders fans didn’t want to hear
The Washington Commanders are having a rough season on the injury front and received more bad news as they head into Week 8.

The Washington Commanders have been dealing with significant injuries all throughout the season, and as they head into Week 8, positive news was balanced with some not-so-positive news where that is concerned.
One step forward, two steps back: Commanders lose McLaurin again
The good news is, quarterback Jayden Daniels’ second injury absence looks to be short-lived, as Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said the he is expected to practice fully this week ahead of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Daniels missed Monday’s 28-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs due to a hamstring injury, but appears on track to return.
The bad news is, though Daniels will be back, he’ll be without his top target. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin re-aggravated his quad injury and will not play on Sunday when the Commanders face the Seahawks, casting a shadow over Daniels’ return.

The pair, who helped lead Washington to last season’s NFC Championship Game, have both battled injuries throughout 2025, with Daniels missing three games and McLaurin missing four. Monday’s game was McLaurin’s first back after the initial injury.
The Commanders have dropped three straight after a 3-2 start and face a tough stretch ahead, including their game against the Seahawks this week, followed by games against the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos. To stay in playoff contention, Washington will need Daniels to quickly regain his Rookie of the Year form, even without McLaurin in the lineup.
