Cowboys owner Jerry Jones breaks silence on Maxx Crosby, Trey Hendrickson trade rumors
The Dallas Cowboys still have a week to decide if they’ll make a trade for some defensive help, but Jerry Jones is as vague as always.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones downplayed reports of potential blockbuster trades for Maxx Crosby or Trey Hendrickson, saying the team has had “nothing close to a deal.” Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, Jones admitted the Cowboys are “looking at all phases” of the roster ahead of the November 4 trade deadline, but he doesn’t expect a major move.

"I can tell you this right now, there is not a trade in my mind, the beginning and end of one, as we sit here and talk ... that I would do."

Classic Jerry response to Cowboys trade possibilities
Jones’ comments come after Dallas’ 44–24 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, which exposed major defensive issues at all three levels. While he didn’t rule out smaller moves, Jones gave a classic answer about the team’s options, saying, “Not necessarily. Not at all. But possibly so.”
Jerry Jones, when asked about @JayGlazer & @wingoz' reports connecting the #DallasCowboys to trades for Maxx Crosby & Trey Hendrickson:

"There hasn't been anything close to a deal. We're looking at all phases of our roster. ... I don't know if we will or not (make a trade)." pic.twitter.com/UCVSeRNUgh
The Cowboys hope to get internal reinforcements soon, notably linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who’s on track to make his 2025 debut on November 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Meanwhile, Trevon Diggs remains on injured reserve with a concussion and a new knee injury unrelated to last year’s ACL tear. Jones said he’s optimistic Diggs will return later this season, emphasizing, “He’s got to get well, and he hasn’t been.”
For now, Dallas sits at 3–4–1 on the season, and looks unlikely to make a significant move, focusing instead on the health and execution of its current players to salvage the season.
