Bo Nix shines again as Broncos roll Cowboys 44–24 in Denver
The Broncos continued their unbeaten run at home behind another electric performance from quarterback Bo Nix, routing the Dallas Cowboys 44–24 to improve to 6–2 on the season.
Nix was efficient all afternoon, completing 19 of 29 passes for 247 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He connected with Troy Franklin twice in the end zone and added connections with rookies Pat Bryant and RJ Harvey, who also found the end zone twice on the ground for a total of three scores.
Denver’s rushing attack set the tone early, piling up 179 yards on 28 carries, an average of 6.4 yards per rush. J.K. Dobbins led the way with 111 yards on 15 carries, while Harvey added 46 yards and two touchdowns, including a 40-yard burst that broke the game open.
The Broncos’ defense capitalized on Dallas’s mistakes, picking off Dak Prescott twice with interceptions by Jahdae Barron and Dondrea Tillman, the latter returning his pick 36 yards deep into Cowboys territory.
Prescott had his worst game of the season so far, finishing with 188 yards on 19-of-31 passing, no touchdowns, and two interceptions before Joe Milton III came in late to throw a 58-yard touchdown to Jalen Tolbert. Former Denver running back Javonte Williams, now with the Cowboys, made the most of his return to Empower Field, scoring two short touchdowns but managing just 41 yards on 13 carries against his old team.
CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens led the Dallas receiving corps, combining for 152 yards on 14 catches, but the Cowboys couldn’t overcome turnovers or missed red-zone opportunities.
On defense, Alex Singleton led the Broncos with 11 tackles, while the pass rush tallied two sacks and eight quarterback hits to keep Prescott under constant duress.
Denver scored in every quarter and never trailed, converting efficiently in the red zone (5-for-6). The Broncos remain undefeated at home (4–0) and continue to look like one of the AFC’s most complete teams.

Prescott's MVP-caliber season
Just a few headlines that showcase just how good Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has been throughout this season:
It's been 33 years...
since the Cowboys won in Denver.
The Dallas Cowboys haven't done many noteworthy things since the '90s, and that includes winning a game against the Broncos in Denver. The last time that happened, it was 1992. That year, they won their first of three Super Bowls in a four-year stretch.
To be fair, Dallas has only played a total of three games in Denver since then, but they lost all three - in 1998, 2009, and 2017. Their home record isn't much better either. The last time they beat the Broncos at home was in 1995. Interestingly, the Cowboys went on to win the Super Bowl that year as well.

Broncos Injury Report
The Broncos enter today’s game relatively healthy. Second-year edge rusher Jonah Elliss is officially back in action after returning to practice this week, and rookie linebacker Jordan Turner is active following his Saturday elevation from the practice squad. Denver did not rule out any players due to injury.
The only major absence for the Broncos is linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who is suspended for his altercation with an official in Week 7. Newly signed defensive back J.T. Gray remains inactive for the second straight game.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are dealing with a wave of defensive injuries. Trevon Diggs was moved to injured reserve after suffering a concussion, joining Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson on the sidelines. Hooker’s fill-in, Juanyeh Thomas, is also inactive due to a migraine, leaving Dallas extremely thin in the secondary.
Linebacker Jack Sanborn is out with a groin injury, and rookies Jay Toia, Ajani Cornelius, and Jonathan Mingo are also inactive - Mingo still awaiting his season debut after coming off IR.
While DeMarvion Overshown, Shavon Revel, and Cooper Beebe all returned to practice this week, none are ready to be activated.

3 Broncos punished ahead of Cowboys game
Ahead of today's game, the NFL issued disciplinary action against three Denver Broncos defenders - Dre Greenlaw, Justin Strnad, and Riley Moss - for incidents that occurred during the team’s 33-32 win over the New York Giants last week.
Rookie cornerback Riley Moss was fined $8,253 for an unnecessary roughness/facemask penalty in the third quarter. It marks the first fine of his NFL career.
Linebacker Justin Strnad was fined $15,486 for making contact with referee Brad Allen during a sideline interaction before Greenlaw’s confrontation with the official. NFL executive vice president Troy Vincent confirmed the fine earlier this week, saying Strnad would be “held accountable.”
Meanwhile, Dre Greenlaw received the harshest punishment - a one-game suspension without pay - for using “abusive and threatening language” toward an official. The NFL said Greenlaw’s suspension was meant to set an example for players at all levels of football, emphasizing respect for officials.
Greenlaw will miss the game today against the Cowboys, but he will be able to return in Week 9 against the Houston Texans.
Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Wiliams will face his former team in Denver this Sunday for the first time since he left the Broncos.
Perfect weather for football!
The weather for today's game in Denver is expected to be sunny and mild, with temps around 68-70 degrees Farenheit and a low chance of any precipitation - perfect for some Sunday football.
In case you need a recap of how that epic comeback happened last week...
Broncos and Cowboys - who has the edge?
The Denver Broncos are on a hot streak, with their latest game being one of the most surprising. The Broncos are now 5-2 after beating the New York Giants in a 33-point comeback victory led by quarterback Bo Nix. They enter their Week 8 game against the Cowboys looking to keep that streak alive and stay atop the AFC West. Their elite defense is facing one of their toughest matches yet against Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' explosive offense.
Prescott is playing MVP-caliber football, leading the league in passing yards and play-action efficiency, while former Bronco Javonte Williams has powered Dallas’ ground game with 463 yards after contact and six rushing touchdowns. Wideouts CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, along with tight end Jake Ferguson, give Prescott one of the deepest arsenals in football, but Denver’s defense, which ranks first in completion percentage allowed and third in total defense, has shown it can disrupt any attack.
The Broncos’ biggest challenge may be starting faster. Despite a dominant fourth quarter last week against the Giants, Denver has struggled to score early, producing just one first-half touchdown over the past three games. Head coach Sean Payton adjusted practices to simulate “Sunday-level” intensity in hopes of fixing the issue.
If the game stays tight, Denver holds a clear edge. The Broncos have won four straight one-score games and lead the league in fourth-quarter scoring margin (71-29). Nix has led three game-winning drives this season, showing poise under pressure.
With the Cowboys’ defense ranked last in total yards and near the bottom in scoring, the Broncos have a perfect opportunity to keep rolling, but they’ll need to match Dallas’ firepower early to avoid another late-game scramble.
