Commanders offense stalls without Jayden Daniels - When will he return?
The Washington Commanders sorely missed their starting quarterback on Monday night. Head coach Dan Quinn provided an update on his injury status.

The Washington Commanders’ offense never found their rhythm without Jayden Daniels on Monday night, falling 28–7 to the Kansas City Chiefs in a primetime matchup that highlighted just how important the young quarterback is to this team.
Backup Marcus Mariota made the start in his place, but the Commanders looked out of sync from the start. Terry McLaurin returned from injury to score Washington’s lone touchdown, but injuries and inconsistency plagued the team. The loss drops Washington to 3-5 on the season, leaving their playoff hopes in jeopardy while Daniels’ return remains crucial.

Jayden Daniels’ injury outlook: when could he return?
Daniels was ruled out Saturday with a low-grade hamstring strain he suffered in the second half of Week 7’s 44–22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said the team didn’t want to risk aggravating the injury on the road in a loud Arrowhead environment.
The Commanders’ playoff hopes are slipping after back-to-back losses, and with the 5-3 Seattle Seahawks up next on a short week, Washington needs Daniels back as soon as possible.
While ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that he wouldn’t be surprised to see Daniels out again next week, Quinn said that the QB will return to practice on Wednesday after missing all week last week.

“He had a good rehab session on Sunday,” said Quinn during a press conference on Tuesday. “Team’s back out at practice tomorrow and we plan on him being a part of that.”
If Daniels isn’t cleared by Sunday, the team could hold him out until Week 10 against the Detroit Lions to allow extra rest before facing the Miami Dolphins in Madrid the following week.
Washington remains third in the NFC East, trailing Philadelphia (6–2) and Dallas (3-4–1). Whether they can stay in the playoff picture likely depends on how quickly Daniels’ hamstring heals, and how cautious the team chooses to be with its franchise quarterback.
