Colts new CB Sauce Gardner surprises young Jets fans... then came the reaction

Sauce Gardner’s trade from the New York Jets to the Indianapolis Colts may have broken a few hearts… but the two-time All-Pro has maybe now mended at least two of them.

What was Sauce Gardner’s gift?

Earlier this week, a video of two young Jets fans reacting to the news of Gardner’s trade went viral, pulling in more than six million views. One of the boys screamed, stomped, and declared he was “done with the Jets forever” – before promptly switching his loyalty to the Colts.

The clip eventually reached Gardner himself, who decided to turn the tantrum into triumph. In a TikTok posted by the Colts, that you can see below, the star cornerback addressed the brothers directly: “What’s going on, Bryce, Trey. I appreciate y’all for the support. With that being said, I’m gonna be giving you all two of my first Colts jerseys.”

The team later shared footage of the boys unboxing their signed shirts – grinning this time instead of sobbing. If Gardner plays as well as he handles PR, Indianapolis might just have found its good-luck charm.

Reaction from fans

Social media lit up almost as fast as the kids’ tears dried. Within minutes of the Colts posting Gardner’s gesture, fans were cracking jokes, swapping memes, and showering the cornerback with praise.

“Dads everywhere right now telling their kids to cry on camera for free jerseys and clout,” one fan joked, as the video racked up more views. Others saw a deeper victory: “Good on those kids for getting out of being a Jets fan while they still can,” wrote @Brenden_P0513, while @bcamlarson1 added, “The Colts just saved two children from a life of misery.”

Even rival supporters couldn’t help but show respect. “I wasn’t really a Sauce fan before this – respect!” posted @Finnagenn_Cider, echoed by @domthepatsfan: “I can like Sauce now.” Colts fans, meanwhile, welcomed the brothers with open arms. “Glad to have you, hope you enjoy the chaos!” wrote @YanaSn0w1, while @LFleezy23 summed up the general mood: “Sauce is a stand-up dude. This is awesome.”

By the end of the day, one comment said what everyone seemed to be thinking: “Sometimes, just sometimes, social media is worth it.”
