Chiefs’ Rashee Rice set to return, but Andy Reid preaches patience
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid issued a reality check as wide receiver Rashee Rice prepares to return from his six-game suspension.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been suspended for the first six weeks of the NFL season due to his involvement in a high-speed car crash in March 2024, violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
As the Chiefs get ready to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7, Rice’s suspension is over, and he will finally make his return to the field. However, head coach Andy Reid warned the team not to get too excited just yet.

“Everybody Gotta Eat”: Andy Reid balances Chiefs’ offense as Rice returns
Despite excitement surrounding Rice’s comeback, Reid reminded his receivers that there’s “only one football” to go around.
“They’ve got a good friendship, which will be needed now,” Reid said, referring to the wide receiver core. “Because we’ve got a lot of guys and only one football.”
The Chiefs, now 3-3 after a 30-17 win over the Detroit Lions, have thrived with Patrick Mahomes spreading the ball among several targets. Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton, and Travis Kelce have all stepped up in Rice’s absence, and maintaining that chemistry remains a top priority.
The locker room has embraced the motto “Everybody Gotta Eat” (E.G.E.), reflecting Reid’s message of teamwork over stats.

Rice echoed that sentiment in his first post-suspension message, signaling his readiness to fit back into Kansas City’s balanced offensive attack.
