Update:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints will face off this Sunday in an NFC South showdown that’s always heated. Ahead of the game, Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield added fuel to the fire when he gave his unfiltered thoughts on their divisional rivals.

Mayfield doesn’t hold back on Saints’ “dirty” play

Mayfield isn’t hiding his feelings about the Saints ahead of their Week 8 matchup. The veteran quarterback, who has led the Bucs to a 5–2 start and the top of the NFC South, accused the Saints of playing dirty and admitted he has nothing positive to say about them.

“It hasn’t exactly been clean play from their part when we play them,” Mayfield said. “It’s a physical game it is with as expected division rivals.”

“Yeah...not much else to say besides the fact that I don’t like them.”

Mayfield’s strong words add extra tension to an already heated rivalry, as the Buccaneers aim to extend their momentum and strengthen their division lead. With Mayfield playing some of his best football in years, throwing for over 1,700 yards and 13 touchdowns through seven games, Tampa Bay enters Sunday’s matchup as the favorite to keep control of the NFC South.

The Saints, on the other hand, have won just one of their seven games and sit dead last in the division. Still, this is a divisional game and anything can happen. The game kicks off this Sunday, October 26, at 4:25 p.m. ET from Ceasars Superdome in New Orleans.
