Bad news for Eagles’ fans: Jaire Alexander is stepping away from football after being traded to Philadelphia on Nov. 1
The former Green Bay cornerback, who was traded to the Ravens in June then the Eagles, made just two appearances this season.

Jaire Alexander’s move to Philadelphia is over before it even began. The 28-year-old cornerback, who signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens in June, was acquired by the Eagles on November 1 - just three days before the trade deadline
On Tuesday, Alexander informed the Eagles that he is stepping away from football to focus on his physical and mental health. He hasn’t played a single game for the Eagles and made just two appearances during his short time in Baltimore - in the defeats to the Bills and the Texans.

Knee ligament surgery
Alexander underwent surgery at the start of the year to repair a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The Eagles brought in the two-time Pro Bowler to shore up their defense but were aware of the physical issues, placing him on Injured Reserve almost immediately.
After seven years with Packers, Alexander was released in June and signed with the Ravens as a free agent. On November 1, The Ravens sent Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a sixth-round pick in next year’s Draft.
The Eagles have activated CB Jakorian Bennett from reserve and placed Alexander on the Reserve/Retired List.
