Update:

Shedeur Sanders is the latest victim in a string of robberies targeting high-profile athletes.

The rookie quarterback made his NFL debut on Sunday, stepping in to replace the injured Dillon Gabriel for the Cleveland Browns. While Sanders was taking his first steps in the professional game, three suspects entered his home at around 6:46pm ET.

The suspects were caught on surveillance cameras in the house, moving through different rooms wearing masks and gloves. Around 12 minutes after entering they left the property.

ESPN reports that possessions worth around $200,000 were stolen and the incident is currently being investigated by the sheriff’s office.

Sanders is the latest in a series of high-profile athletes. In the past year Luka Doncic, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ja Morant have all suffered burglaries.

It was a mixed weekend for Sanders, who finally made his NFL debut in Week 11 of the 2025 season. The 23-year-old came on to replace Gabriel for the second half but he struggled, making only four of his 16 attempted passes. However with Gabriel now in the NFL’s concussion protocol Sanders looks set to start again in next weekend’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
