Just four teams remain in EuroBasket 2025 with the semifinalists now confirmed after Germany overcame Slovenia in the last of the quarterfinal games to set up a clash against Finland on Friday in Riga with Turkey set to face Greece in the other semi-final.

Luka Doncic has been instrumental in Slovenia progressing at this stage of EuroBasket 2025, serving as the team’s undisputed leader and primary engine on both ends of the court but despite his performance on Wednesday, it was Germany who advance.

Going into the game against Germany, the Lakers star was the leading scorer in the tournament, averaging 34.0 points per game. He has been responsible for a staggering 37% of Slovenia’s total points. His offensive workload is immense, and he has consistently delivered, including a 42-point explosion in the Round of 16 victory over Italy.

After a strong start against Germany which saw Slovenia streak into a 32-21 Q1 lead, the second quarter saw Alex Mumbru’s men regain their foothold with the halftime buzzer seeing the contest a much tighter affair with a 51-45 scoreline at the interval with 22 of Slovenia’s points coming from the 26-year-old Ljubljana native.

Matters took a change in the second half as Germany grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck with Franz Wagner bagging 23 points, aided by the 20 of Dennis Schroeder.

Germany now take on Finland on Friday in Riga after the Finns disposed of Georgia 93-79 in the penultimate quarterfinal clash.
