The calls for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files have dogged Donald Trump’s second term in office, in a big part because of his own doing. During the 2024 campaign Trump himself demanded that the information the government held on the sex offender should be made public.

However, that has come back to haunt him with Trump’s own name appearing over 1,600 times in a trove of documents that were released last week. Now on the verge of a vote by the House of Representatives to force the release of all the documents the president appears to be cracking.

Trump says to female reporter: “Quiet, quiet piggy”

The trickle of news about Trump and Epstein became a torrent on Wednesday last week when the government reopened and Democrat Representative Adelita Grijalva of Arizona was sworn in. Her signature on a petition for a floor vote to release the Epstein files was the final one necessary for the initiative to move forward.

That sent the White House into crisis mode, even Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert was brought into the Situation Room to try to convince her to remove hers from the petition. When that failed, Trump began attacking other House GOP members on social media who had signed on to it.

Friday, Trump raised eyebrows during the day when music from the Phantom of the Opera, Elton John and others was playing so loud at the White House that it could be heard across the lawn.

Then, that evening he caught his scheduled flight to his beach resort Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Aboard Air Force One he took questions from the press where he received several regarding the Epstein files.

In a video posted on social media, Trump can be clearly seen getting upset, pointing his finger at someone off camera asking about the files and spitting out, “quiet, quiet piggy!”

It has been reported that the journalist in question was Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey.

Who is Catherine Lucey?

The veteran journalist has over twenty years of experience in the field. She currently works for Bloomberg after previously working for The Wall Street Journal, where she covered politics, the White House, Biden as well as the first Trump Administation.

She had previously worked at Associated Press and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
