Update:

A high-profile White House announcement on Thursday was briefly thrown into mild chaos when Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay collapsed in the Oval Office beside President Donald Trump, whose team had been outlining a new deal to make obesity drugs more affordable.

The event – held to announce an agreement between Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to lower prices and expand access to their popular medications Zepbound and Wegovy – was proceeding smoothly until Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks stopped mid-sentence and looked alarmed. “Are you okay?” he asked, moments before Findlay fell to his knees and slumped to the floor.

Among those who rushed to assist was Dr. Mehmet Oz, now serving as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, who quickly knelt beside Findlay to provide aid. Reporters were ushered out of the room as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other officials looked on.

How is Gordon Findlay after collapse?

When the press were later allowed back in, Trump addressed the incident briefly: “One of the representatives of the companies got a little bit lightheaded,” he said. “He’s fine – we’ve got doctors here. They took good care of him.”

The cause of Findlay’s collapse remains unknown, and neither Novo Nordisk nor the White House has released further details about his condition. The announcement later resumed.
