What time do the NYC election polls open and close today, Nov. 4?

According to the New York City Board of Elections, poll sites across the city are scheduled to remain open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET.

If you’re not sure where your poll site is, you can find out by using this search tool provided on the Board of Elections website.

What about mail ballots?

If you’re voting by mail, the Board of Elections says it can receive your ballot up to seven days after November 4, as long as it is postmarked by Election Day.

New Yorkers flock to early voting

A record number of New Yorkers cast their votes ahead of Election Day. Between October 25 and November 3, just over 735,000 people took part in early voting, according to figures published by the Board of Elections.

As is noted by the New York Times’ Alex Lemonides and Ashley Ahn, that’s more than four times the number of people - about 170,000 - who voted early ahead of New York City’s mayoral election four years ago.

Who is the favorite to win the 2025 NYC mayoral election?

In the lead-up to the election, Mamdani has enjoyed a healthy lead in the polls. However, a major survey released on the eve of the vote shows the 34-year-old’s previously double-digit advantage has narrowed.

Per pollsters Atlas Intel, the Democrat led with 43.9% of the vote on Monday, just over four percent ahead of Cuomo, the former New York State governor, on 39.4%. Sliwa had 15.5%.
