Trump, tired of Putin, announces new plans in Ukraine
The U.S. President says he will send more weapons to Kyiv so it can “defend itself” from Russia. “I’m not happy with Putin,” Trump reiterates.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that his administration will send more weapons to Ukraine so the country can “defend itself” against Russia, following a temporary halt in some shipments by the Pentagon due to a routine review.
“We have to send more weapons. We must do it so they can defend themselves. They’re under very heavy attack,” Trump told reporters during a dinner with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.
The president clarified that the weapons will be “primarily defensive” in nature.
Trump also reiterated his frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin for refusing to accept a ceasefire and halt the ongoing bombings of Ukrainian territory.
“I’m not happy at all with President Putin,” Trump said, echoing remarks he made last week after a phone call with the Russian leader.“I stop wars, and I hate seeing people die,” added the Republican president.
The weapons shipment pause was temporary
The White House said Monday that the pause in certain arms shipments to Ukraine—announced last week—was temporary and caused by a routine review of the foreign military assistance program.
Among the equipment affected by the suspension were interceptors for Patriot air defense systems, precision artillery shells, and air-launched missiles for U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets, according to Pentagon officials cited by local media.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Friday that, following a phone call with Trump, the two had agreed to work together to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
