This robot wears a cowboy hat and talks to people on the street: Meet Jake from Texas

If you have ever been approached by a five-foot, stetson-wearing humanoid while out and about in Austin, Texas, and received a flurry of compliments about your appearance in a strange mix of old and new slang, you’ve probably just met Jake the Rizzbot.

Jake is an AI-powered Unitree G1 Humanoid agent AI avatar, which retails for upwards of $16,000. It features extra joint flexibility thanks to his 23-34 joint motors which allows it to simulate human movements. The latest robotic technology which means Jake is able to swagger down the sidewalk greeting his fellow Texans - or “homies” as he likes to call them.

Humanoid cowboy showers southern charm on his “homies”

Jake likes to make sure they know he is a Rizzbot - ‘Rizz’ being Texan slang for charisma. And he turns on that friendly southern charm to whoever he meets - especially the ladies.

Underneath it all, he’s just a friendly, outgoing humanoid cowboy, dishing out compliments to anyone who wants to chat. “Yo G, that white baseball cap is straight bangin’ and that logo’s shining - you keep it solid!” Jake enthuses in a video posted by Jesse Hernandez on Instagram. "My homie, that beard’s cold and that mustache is hard. You look clean, nephew. Gee, that black smartwatch is straight iced out. You got that clean drip locked down".

With his 10-gallon, hat, silver chain and Nike sneakers, Jake is “rockin’ it with style” like a “solid boss, for real” himself. Just when you thought the Lone Star State couldn’t get more surreal, there’s Jake the rootin’ tootin’ cowboy running around and making new friends. Not that he can stay out on the street for too long - Jake’s battery keeps him functioning for two hours before he has to be plugged in to recharge.
