The countdown is on: When is the deadline for the Trump Administration to to release the Epstein files
Here’s what is set to happen next after the House, the Senate, and Trump all played their part in releasing the Epstein files.

With the constant swirl of the media cycle, it can be impossible to keep up with just what’s going on in American politics.
The Epstein files situation is one such case: with thousands of emails, numerous alleged actors, and an incessant noise surrounding it all, information can easily be overlooked as everything merges into one gelatinous mess with an orange wig on the top.
With all that in mind, it’s time to stick our heads out of the whirlpool and see where we’ve ended up.
Over the past week, we have seen a rapid escalation in the pressure on the Donald Trump administration around the Jeffrey Epstein case which will not, despite the president’s best efforts, go away.
A flurry of emails surfaced implicating Trump in Epstein-adjacent conduct, while Republicans and Democrats alike rallied behind a bill to force full disclosure of the files. One long-standing key Trump ally, Marjorie Taylor Greene, even broke ranks and is now leading the effort to see the files released. Meanwhile, Trump himself dismissed the fuss as “pretty boring stuff” and declared that the matter should not distract from his supposed political accomplishments which are (if they do exist) exposed from behind a now-broken MAGA wall of protection.
So that was last week. As for the vote to release the files, here’s how it works.
The House introduced a bill to compel the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) to publish all documents related to Epstein’s investigations and death.
That bill was voted upon, and passed with an overwhelming 427-1 majority, meaning it was sent to the Republican-controlled Senate. On Wednesday morning they voted unanimously to release it, and it was then passed on to Trump’s office.
In a post on his social media site, the president announced in a typical caps-lock fury: “Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed, because I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES! This latest Hoax will backfire on the Democrats just as all of the rest have! Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Having signed it into law, a key feature of the Act now kicks in: a 30-day deadline.
As soon as the President put pen to paper, the clock started ticking: the DOJ must now make the documents available within 30 days.
What this means in practice for the Trump administration is that the deadline for full disclosure is essentially fixed: as the bill has become law, 30 days from now is the “drop-dead” date by which the files must be released.
PBS explains that within 15 days of the document drop, the DOJ must pass onto Congress “a full list of all materials released and withheld, a full report on any redactions, and a list of all government officials and ‘politically exposed persons’ named in the materials.”

However, there are certain caveats to keep in mind. Any information relating to ongoing procedures cannot be released, nor can anything related to underage survivors. Therefore, within the law-making world, there are worries regarding what Trump and his cronies might do to delay or prevent potentially damaging information slipping out of their grasp. We shall see how it unfolds.
