Estados Unidos Update:

The wave of gun violence in the United States shows no sign of abating. On Wednesday morning, September 24, a shooting broke out at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, around 7:00 a.m. local time.

According to acting ICE director Todd Lyons, one migrant was killed and three others were injured. The victims were quickly taken to a nearby hospital, though the extent of their injuries remains unknown.

Suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound

Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that the shooter – described in initial reports as a sniper – died from a self-inflicted bullet shortly after carrying out the attack, bringing the death toll to two.

“There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Detention Facility. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities,” Noem wrote on social media. “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families.”

Noem and Vance call it wrong... on purpose?

The gunman’s identity has not yet been released. Police sources told Fox4 that he was “a white man who kept firing until he killed himself as officers closed in.”

The suspect reportedly opened fire from an elevated position and, in potentially complete contrast to the initial comments from the likes of Noem and VP J.D. Vance, was possibly shooting at the detainees, not ICE officers. More information will emerge.
